Trying to Finish Strong

The light at the end of the tunnel that is 2025…at least I hope it is.

I know I’ve mentioned this before, but this has been the year from hell. If something could go wrong, it did, usually in the biggest way possible. Now, with only two months left, I’m doing what I can to salvage the year. I started 2025 with big plans and high hopes, and at this point, my main goal is to make sure it isn’t a total loss.

That said, I did get some things done. I wrote a few short stories and blog posts. On YouTube, I’ve seen slow but steady growth, still a long way from monetization, but progress, nonetheless. Those small wins have kept me going, even when the darker side of my mind tells me to give up.

That’s why I’m doubling down for the rest of the year. Earlier, I started a new book: Thorne: The Price of Earth, a sci-fi action story in the same spirit as Doctor Who. It’s inspired by it but stands on its own. After watching one of my favorite shows fall apart and seeing those involved attack fans who didn’t agree, I got fired up. If they weren’t going to tell a good story, then I decided I would.

I wrote the first four chapters over the summer before hitting a wall. Depression got the better of me for a while. But I refused to let it win. Bit by bit, I fought my way back, and now I’m determined to finish this book by the end of November. I even built a progress tracker to keep myself accountable. I’m eager to return to my EVOREALM superhero series, but Thorne is something I needed to write. The idea has been sitting with me for years. When Doctor Who imploded, I jumped in without an outline, something I never do, which should tell you how fired up I was. I’ve got a loose roadmap now, mostly bullet points, and I’m filling in the rest as I write.

As I look back on the wreckage of 2025, I’m doing my best to end it on a high note. I’m not saying a word about 2026. I’ll keep my plans quiet and hope the universe doesn’t catch wind of them. (Kidding. Mostly.) I’ll share what’s ahead when the time comes and treat next year as a clean slate.

Finally, I want to thank everyone who’s been supporting me. It’s a small group right now, but I hope one day it’ll grow into something bigger, something everyone will want to be part of. You’re the lucky ones who’ll get to say, “I knew him when.”
