Bringing DEADLOCK to Life as an Audiobook

Most people don’t have time to read books anymore. Between work, family, and endless scrolling through social media, it’s hard to sit down with a physical book. That’s why I’m turning my first novel, DEADLOCK, into an audiobook.

Right now, I’m deep in the process, formatting each chapter, checking for sentence breaks, and making sure all the alien words are pronounced correctly. It’s slower than I expected, but it’s important to get it right.

I’m using AI through Spoken to help narrate the book. They pay voice actors for their talent, so nothing is stolen or cheapened. The AI simply makes it possible for authors like me to reach readers who prefer listening over reading. Most listeners remember the story, not the narrator anyway.

I love audiobooks. My commute is about a half hour each way, perfect for diving into a story I’ve been meaning to read. Audiobooks let me enjoy more books without stealing time from family, writing, or creating YouTube videos.

We’re at the edge of a new era where technology helps authors connect with audiences and readers discover stories they might have never tried. For me, and for many other authors, AI audiobooks aren’t the future; they’re the solution.

I can’t wait to share DEADLOCK with you all when it’s ready. Stay tuned!
