I haven’t written much this week. Part of the reason is that Deadlock comes out soon and I’m beyond excited. It’s hard to focus on writing my next book when my first one is about to be released out into the world.
The other part is I’m scared. If my book flops, why write another one. Frankly, I don’t know how things will turn out. I will finish my second book no matter what. I was hoping to be able to set up a book launch party at a local comic book shop but in today’s world that’s not possible. I’ve also spent a lot of time trying to market both my book and me. Marketing is not a strength of mine. When I get some free time maybe I’ll find some marketing classes on skill share.
I started writing this book to help with my anxiety and depression. It helped. I went from almost ending things permanently to loving life and not taking it for granted. While I am nervous about the future of my writing, I’m secure in the knowledge that I won’t be returning to the darkness that drove me to write. Now I write because I love it. Creating worlds and the characters that live there is fun and therapeutic.
I want to thank everyone again for your support in this endeavor. I’m genuinely grateful to all of you. Please leave a comment if you’d like. I’d really like to hear from you.
